Dr. Oz says that many hospice providers were suspended in the Los Angeles area. That number is not a footnote. It is the size of the failure.

When Dr. Mehmet Oz says 221 hospice providers have now been suspended in the Los Angeles area, he is not announcing the discovery of a scandal. He is admitting the scale of one.

The real story is not that California had hospice fraud. We already knew that. The real story is that the fraud became so brazen, so concentrated, and so expensive that the federal government can no longer treat it like a fringe problem or a regional embarrassment.

This is the same scandal California was warned about years ago, the same scandal investigators and journalists have been circling for months, and the same scandal state officials now seem eager to describe as though it materialized out of nowhere. It did not. It grew inside a regulatory environment that made abuse cheap, oversight slow, and accountability optional.

Now the public is finally hearing the language that should have triggered alarm long ago: mass suspensions, coordinated fraud takedowns, criminal arrests, and a Medicare system that appears to have paid first and asked questions much later.

The new update is not subtle

According to CBS News, Dr. Oz has publicly highlighted what he described as massive hospice fraud in Los Angeles and said 221 providers had been suspended in the region. That is not a minor enforcement tweak. That is an implicit acknowledgment that the underlying problem had reached industrial scale. [1]

CNN separately reported that eight people were taken into custody in Southern California in an alleged health care and hospice fraud case, giving the story a fresh criminal-enforcement dimension instead of leaving it at the level of policy talk and bureaucratic concern.[2]

California Attorney General Rob Bonta has also announced arrests in hospice-fraud cases, reinforcing the same conclusion from the state side: this is not an isolated cluster of bad actors, and it is not a closed chapter.[3]

Put those developments together and the shape of the story becomes harder to deny. This was never a one-off abuse hidden in paperwork. It was a permissive ecosystem.

California was warned before the crackdown

The most damning part of this story is not that fraud existed. Fraud exists anywhere public money flows. The damning part is how much warning California had before the scandal became impossible to ignore.

A California State Auditor report from 2022 laid out serious weaknesses in the state’s hospice licensing and oversight system. The warning signs were there years ago. Oversight was weak, licensing controls were insufficient, and the conditions for abuse were already visible.[4]

That matters because it destroys the most flattering possible interpretation of the current crackdown. This was not a black-swan event. Regulators were not blindsided by some novel fraud technique nobody could have predicted. The state was told the system was vulnerable. It stayed vulnerable. Then the abuse multiplied.

By the time federal officials are talking publicly about more than two hundred suspensions in one region, the real failure is already old.

The old numbers were already absurd

Part of what made the original hospice-fraud reporting so striking was not just the scale, but the geometry of the scam. Provider counts and billing patterns in Los Angeles looked less like ordinary health care expansion and more like a licensing system being gamed in broad daylight.

The core pattern was always the same: too many providers, too little scrutiny, too much money moving through a public program that depended on trust and documentation more than direct verification. Once that environment exists, fraud stops being a rare moral failing and starts becoming a business model.

That is the frame people should keep in mind as new arrests and suspensions roll in. The latest crackdown does not disprove the original thesis. It confirms it.

This is what systemic failure looks like

Officials like to describe scandals in terms of bad individuals. That is politically convenient. A few criminals can be arrested. A few licenses can be suspended. A few headlines can create the impression that the system worked because it eventually produced a response.

But that is not what system success looks like. System success means the abuse is difficult to scale in the first place. It means improbable provider clusters get flagged early. It means audit findings produce aggressive reforms before federal television hits and criminal takedowns become necessary.

California’s hospice scandal moved in the opposite direction. Warnings accumulated. Strange concentrations of providers persisted. Public money kept flowing. Then, only after the pattern had become too obvious to ignore, the crackdown arrived and officials began speaking with the moral clarity they should have shown much earlier.

This is why the real scandal is not simply hospice fraud. The real scandal is the lag between warning and action.

The question is no longer whether the fraud was real

That question is over.

The question now is how many fraudulent or abusive operators were allowed to bill Medicare before anyone treated the pattern as an emergency.

How many patients and families were swept into a system distorted by opportunists?

How many legitimate hospice providers had to compete with fraudulent ones gaming the reimbursement structure?

And why did it take public embarrassment, arrests, and more than 200 suspensions for the system to begin acting like this was a crisis?

When Washington finally starts using numbers this large, the story is no longer about discovery. It is about delayed recognition.

California did not stumble into a hospice fraud problem. It licensed one, tolerated it, and only now appears ready to admit how large it became.

Quarantining people with no symptoms and no exposure history was unprecedented in public health history. 13. Plexiglass Barriers

Installed everywhere, at enormous cost, with no evidence of efficacy. Later research showed plexiglass can worsen airflow patterns and potentially increase transmission. 14. Social Distancing

The six-foot rule was not derived from a study. It was a round number. 15. Outdoor Spread

Data emerged within months that outdoor transmission was negligible. Beaches were closed anyway. Playgrounds were padlocked. People were arrested for surfing alone. Fauci said in February 2020 that masks didn’t work for the general public. The Censorship Machine

This is where institutional failure becomes something more serious.

The Biden White House compiled lists of accounts to suppress. The Surgeon General pressured platforms to remove “harmful content.” The CDC, FBI, and DHS flagged specific accounts to Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. Among those flagged: sitting U.S. Senators, credentialed epidemiologists, physicians, and journalists whose offense was citing peer-reviewed data that contradicted official messaging.

A federal court found it unconstitutional. The case was Missouri v. Biden. The government agreed to a consent decree — admitting in writing that it used federal power to suppress speech and agreeing to stop. Zero Accountability

Every institution involved — the CDC, NIH, FDA, WHO, major media, social media platforms — has continued operating as if the last six years didn’t happen.

Fauci retired with honors. Walensky left with a glowing send-off. The Lancet letter organizer faced no professional consequences. Collins attempted to destroy the careers of scientists he disagreed with and faced no consequences.

The accountability gap is its own story.

No one was fired. No one resigned. No policy was formally reversed. No apology was issued. The institutions moved on, then wondered aloud why people stopped listening.

The Real Answer

Conor asked why trust decreased.

It wasn’t because people became anti-science. Most of us believe in vaccines, germ theory, and the value of epidemiology.

Trust was lost because the institutions got nearly everything wrong, enforced their errors with the full weight of government power, punished the people who turned out to be right, and then never once looked the public in the eye and said: We were wrong. Here’s what we’re going to do differently.

Twenty things. Wrong on every one. No accountability on any of them.

The public didn’t become irrational. The public updated on evidence. That’s what rational people do. The institutions failed. People noticed.

Want to restore trust? Start with accountability. The consent decree proved the government knew what it was doing. The question now is whether anyone will act on that knowledge — or whether we’ll be asked the same question again in another five years.

We haven’t forgotten. And we shouldn’t.

On November 27, 2022, the CDC’s own Vaccine Safety Datalink lit up with a statistically significant safety signal: ischemic strokes in people 65 and older following Pfizer’s bivalent COVID booster.

The signal didn’t flicker and fade. It screamed — week after week after week.

December 4. December 11. December 18. December 25.
January 1. January 8. January 15. January 29.

Nine consecutive weeks of a statistically significant signal for strokes in the elderly.

The CDC saw it every single time. And what did they do?

They kept pushing the shots.

The Paper Trail

This week, Sen. Ron Johnson — chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations — released a devastating letter to HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. that lays bare the internal machinery of suppression. It’s 30+ pages of emails, meeting notes, contractor reports, and internal communications that tell a story far worse than mere negligence.

It’s a story of people who knew — and chose to look away.

What the CDC Found

The Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) — one of the most robust active surveillance systems in the country — first flagged the ischemic stroke signal on November 27, 2022, just three months after the FDA authorized Pfizer’s bivalent booster. At that point, roughly 14.4 million Americans aged 12 and up had already received it.

The signal didn’t resolve. It intensified. By late December, CDC officials were reviewing VAERS reports and finding 53 cases of ischemic stroke following the bivalent vaccine — including three deaths.

By January 6, 2023, a senior CDC official identified 39 additional cases. By January 10, another 22. By February 7, the count had reached 226 stroke cases.

The White House Edit

Here’s where the story turns from troubling to damning.

On December 15, 2022 — with the stroke signal already confirmed across multiple consecutive weeks — CDC official Michael Bell drafted an internal communication noting the “WH and HHS intense push to increase uptake of the booster” for people 65 and older. The email was edited by Tom Shimabukuro, CDC’s vaccine safety lead.

Read that again. The CDC had a confirmed stroke signal in the elderly. The White House was simultaneously running an “intense push” to get those same elderly people boosted.

Then came January 11, 2023. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky received a draft communications plan about the stroke signal. The document contained apparent White House edits. The key change? The word “moderately elevated” was crossed out and replaced with “slightly elevated.”

One word swap. A stroke signal — confirmed nine straight weeks in the most reliable surveillance system available — downgraded from “moderately” to “slightly” at the apparent direction of political officials.

The Public Statement

Two days later, on January 13, 2023, the FDA and CDC released a carefully worded joint statement acknowledging the signal’s detection while continuing to recommend the bivalent booster for people over 65. They posted it on the FDA website — not as a press conference, not as a formal safety alert, but as an informal notice.

The message was clear: Nothing to see here. Keep getting your shots.

Pfizer’s Response

On January 24, 2023, Pfizer submitted a confidential response to the FDA:

“There is no evidence at this time that thromboembolic events, including ischemic stroke, are a safety signal or risk of Bivalent Comirnaty.”

The CDC’s own surveillance system had been screaming for two months. Pfizer said there was “no evidence.”

The “Resolved” Signal

By July 24, 2023, FDA officials circulated a quarterly surveillance report claiming: “The previously reported signal for ischemic stroke has resolved.”

Except it hadn’t — not really. An Empirical Bayesian data-mining analysis of VAERS through both February and March 2023 had independently identified statistically significant signals for ischemic stroke in the 65+ population following the Pfizer bivalent booster. Those findings appear nowhere in the FDA’s “resolved” declaration.

As late as September 2025, CDC official John Su acknowledged the VSD signal remained subject to further analysis.

Three years later. Still analyzing.

The Children They Didn’t Protect

Buried in the Johnson letter is a detail that should stop every parent cold.

On March 7, 2023, FDA officials circulated VAERS reports on three “Notable US Deaths” following the booster — including a 13-year-old girl. In the same batch: a report on a healthy 8-year-old boy who suffered four episodes of transient ischemic attacks after his booster.

The FDA’s own sender comment on the boy’s case:

“Based on the temporal relationship, the association between the event transient ischemic attack with BNT162B2 … cannot be fully excluded.”

Cannot be fully excluded. Government-speak for: the shot probably did this to a healthy child.

This echoes what we covered on Rational Ground in November 2025 — the FDA’s own internal review that flagged at least ten deaths in children aged 7–16 as “likely, probable, or possible” causally related to COVID vaccination. Deaths acknowledged by the agency years after they occurred, buried until new leadership pried them loose.

The Pattern

1. The CDC detected a stroke signal in November 2022. Not a maybe. A statistically significant finding in their gold-standard surveillance system.

2. The signal persisted for nine consecutive weeks. This wasn’t noise. This was a pattern.

3. The White House edited the CDC’s communications to downgrade the severity. Political officials changed “moderately elevated” to “slightly elevated.”

4. Pfizer denied the signal existed while the CDC’s own data said otherwise.

5. The FDA declared the signal “resolved” while independent analyses continued to find it.

6. Children were affected. A healthy 8-year-old boy had four strokes. A 13-year-old girl died.

7. Three years later, they’re still “analyzing.” The bureaucratic equivalent of running out the clock.

This isn’t a conspiracy theory. It’s a paper trail. Senator Johnson didn’t speculate — he quoted their own emails back to them.

The Question That Matters

Every American over 65 who received the bivalent booster between November 2022 and January 2023 — the period when the signal was confirmed but no meaningful public warning was issued — deserves an answer to one question:

Would you have taken the shot if they’d told you the truth?

Not “slightly elevated.” Not an informal notice buried on the FDA website. The truth: that their own surveillance system had detected a statistically significant stroke signal in your age group, week after week, and the White House was editing the language to make it sound less alarming.

That’s not informed consent. That’s managed consent. And managed consent isn’t consent at all.

What Just Happened

The case is Missouri v. Biden, later styled Murthy v. Missouri after the Biden administration appealed to the Supreme Court. Today, the Trump DOJ and the original plaintiffs — then-Missouri AG Eric Schmitt, Louisiana, Dr. Aaron Kheriaty, Jill Hines, and Jim Hoft — reached a final settlement: a 10-year, court-enforceable Consent Decree filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana.

The Consent Decree directly binds:

• The U.S. Surgeon General

• The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

• The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)

What are they prohibited from doing? Exactly what they did.

What the Decree Actually Says

This is the federal government writing about itself. Quote it slowly:

“Over the last 4 years, the previous administration trampled free speech rights by censoring Americans’ speech on online platforms, often by exerting substantial coercive pressure on third parties, such as social media companies, to moderate, deplatform, or otherwise suppress speech that the Federal Government did not approve.”

And then it goes further — enshrining a legal principle that should have been obvious but wasn’t treated as such:

“The Parties agree that government, politicians, media, academics, or anyone else applying labels such as ‘misinformation,’ ‘disinformation,’ or ‘malinformation’ to speech does not render it constitutionally unprotected.”

Read that again. Calling something misinformation doesn’t make it unprotected speech. The government just agreed to that in a binding legal document.

The operative prohibitions are sweeping: these agencies cannot — formally or informally, directly or indirectly — threaten social media companies with “legal, regulatory, or economic punishment” to remove or suppress protected speech. They cannot “unilaterally direct or veto” platform content moderation decisions.

How We Got Here

This case started in May 2022 when then-Missouri AG Eric Schmitt and Louisiana AG Jeff Landry filed suit after uncovering communications showing federal officials at the White House, DHS, CDC, and the Surgeon General’s office routinely pressuring platforms to take down content. The specific targets:

• COVID-19 posts — questioning vaccine mandates, school closures, mask efficacy

• The Hunter Biden laptop story — suppressed before the 2020 election

• 2020 election claims — even those that later proved accurate

Discovery revealed a systematic “whole of government” censorship operation. The White House flagged posts directly to Meta. The CDC coordinated with YouTube on what qualified as “misinformation.” CISA ran working groups with platforms to identify content for removal. The Surgeon General’s office used the threat of regulatory action as leverage.

On July 4, 2023 — Independence Day, pointedly — Judge Terry Doughty issued a sweeping preliminary injunction. We covered it in real time here at Rational Ground. The judge wrote:

“If the allegations made by Plaintiffs are true, the present case arguably involves the most massive attack against free speech in United States’ history.”

He was right.

The Fifth Circuit largely upheld the injunction. The Biden administration took it to the Supreme Court, which ruled in Murthy v. Missouri (June 2024) that the plaintiffs lacked standing for a preliminary injunction at that stage — a procedural ruling, not a vindication of the censorship. The case returned to district court, discovery continued, and the evidence kept mounting.

Today, the Trump DOJ settled rather than litigate further — and the terms are a complete vindication of everything the plaintiffs alleged.

This Is Personal for Rational Ground

When Judge Doughty issued his July 2023 injunction, I was in the middle of media interviews about the case. I wrote about it here, quoting Dr. Aaron Kheriaty — one of the named plaintiffs:

“We didn’t know what we would find when we turned over that rock. And it turns out that censorship was happening not just at the behest of public health agencies, like the CDC and the NIH, but the intelligence agencies were involved — the Department of Justice, FBI, the State Department, Department of Homeland Security. So the whole military intelligence industrial complex is tangled up in the censorship industrial complex.”

We also dug deep into the infrastructure behind the operation. The CTIL Files — US and UK military contractors creating a sweeping global censorship plan in 2018, before COVID, before the 2020 election — laid out how the machinery was pre-built and waiting to be deployed. The Censorship Industrial Complex exposed the network of NGOs, academics, and government agencies that ran it.

Today we have the answer. He did — or more precisely, the legal machine that Schmitt and the NCLA built forced the answer regardless of politics.

The Screwtape Connection

Those of you who’ve been reading my COVID Screwtape Letters know that the censorship operation had a spiritual architecture. From Chapter 4:

“What we accomplished between 2020 and 2022 required none of that infrastructure. No dungeons. No trials. No martyrs. The suppression of dissent was nearly total, the mechanism was nearly invisible, and the humans who operated it were nearly all convinced they were doing something noble.”

And in the postscript, Screwtape himself left this warning — written in character but prescient in fact:

“The cases in the courts — Missouri v. Biden, the Bhattacharya complaint, the CTIL whistleblower disclosures — are proceeding through systems that still, imperfectly and slowly, function. Do not assume permanence. One thing we have never been able to do is destroy the Enemy’s habit of placing awkward people in awkward positions with awkward documents at awkward moments in history. The archivist, the whistleblower, the inconvenient plaintiff — these are not random. Watch them.”

Today, the inconvenient plaintiffs won.

The People Who Won This

Dr. Aaron Kheriaty — Former director of medical ethics at UC Irvine, fired after challenging the university’s vaccine mandate in court. Author of The New Abnormal: The Rise of the Biomedical Security State. He knew what they would find when they turned over that rock. He was right about all of it.

Jill Hines — Louisiana health freedom advocate who was directly censored for sharing vaccine safety data. Not a politician, not a pundit. Just a citizen who was silenced by her own government. She and Kheriaty retain the right to personally enforce the consent decree if the government violates it.

Jim Hoft — Gateway Pundit founder. Repeatedly suppressed. Repeatedly correct.

Eric Schmitt — Then-AG of Missouri, now US Senator. He filed the original suit, drove the discovery, and never let go. “The level of coordination between senior government officials and senior social media executives is astounding,” he said in 2023. “There were direct text messages from the Surgeon General of the United States to senior Facebook officials saying, ‘Take this down.’ It’s just un-American.”

Jay Bhattacharya — Co-author of the Great Barrington Declaration, placed on Twitter’s “trends blacklist” for questioning lockdowns, whose work was flagged for algorithmic suppression by government officials. Had to withdraw from the case when he was appointed head of the NIH. His presence at the NIH is its own kind of vindication.

The Unsettled Questions

Scope limitations. The decree binds the Surgeon General, CDC, and CISA — but not every agency. The State Department, FBI, and DHS aren’t directly covered. The prohibition applies to content posted by the named plaintiffs on the named platforms. It’s a historic floor, not a complete ceiling.

Future administrations. The decree runs 10 years, which means it survives the next White House transition. Any future administration that attempts to revive the censorship apparatus will be in contempt of a federal court order. That is a genuinely new structural constraint.

Watch the spin. Expect coverage that focuses on Trump settling the case rather than why settlement was necessary — i.e., because the government was caught dead to rights. The same outlets that called this a “right-wing attack on content moderation” now have to decide how to cover the government agreeing with every word of it.

Other fights ongoing. The NCLA still has active suits against the State Department on behalf of The Federalist and The Daily Wire, and a separate suit for vaccine-injured Americans censored on Facebook. Today’s win emboldens both.

That’s not a settlement.
That’s a confession.

Missouri v. Biden started with an “extraordinary” claim: the federal government was systematically pressuring social media companies to suppress speech it didn’t like, using the coercive threat of regulatory action to do indirectly what the First Amendment bars it from doing directly.

Rational Ground covered it. The plaintiffs proved it. The courts confirmed it. And today, the United States government agreed — in a binding, 10-year court order — that this is exactly what happened.

For everyone who was called a conspiracy theorist for saying the quiet part out loud — who got shadowbanned, deplatformed, fact-checked, suspended, and silenced — the record now says you were right.

We told you so.

For about twelve years, I lived in Loudoun County, Virginia. My older kids — the ones who are grown and out of the house now — spent their childhood in and around the woods. Loudoun was a burgeoning new suburb back then. You’d walk out your back door and be in the trees. Cross the street — more trees. As an LDS family, we camped, we scouted, we hiked. We frequented the outdoors!

Lo and behold, two of my younger kids contracted Lyme disease from tick bites.

I can’t fully convey what those years were like for anyone who hasn’t been through it. The pills. The antibiotics. The treatments. The support groups. The tears. The frustrations. Leg aches that wouldn’t quit. Heart issues. The feeling that you’re fighting something the medical establishment barely understands and isn’t quite sure how to treat. You doubt yourself, your kids, your spouse… it’s still challenging to look back on.

Anyone who’s had Lyme disease — or watched their child fight it — knows exactly what I’m describing. Loudoun County, Virginia was, frankly, ground zero for it.

So when a new investigation based on declassified government documents landed on my desk suggesting that the U.S. military deliberately released hundreds of thousands of infected ticks across Virginia as part of a secret bioweapons program — I read every word.

This report hits home. Here’s what we know.

The Declassified Evidence

Dr. Robert Malone recently published an investigation drawing on 41 primary sources — declassified government documents, CIA operative testimony, and previously suppressed scientific research — that paints a deeply troubling picture of the origins of America’s Lyme disease epidemic.

The military released 282,800 radioactive ticks across Virginia. Between 1966 and 1969, the U.S. military released lone star ticks made radioactive with Carbon-14 at multiple sites across Virginia, along bird migration routes. The explicit purpose was to track how disease-carrying insects would spread through the environment. Two tick experts consulted about this program described their reaction simply: they “were aghast.” Before these experiments, lone star ticks were not found above the Mason-Dixon Line. Within years of the Virginia releases, they had established populations on Long Island for the first time in recorded history.

Let that sink in. The U.S. military seeded the mid-Atlantic with hundreds of thousands of experimental ticks — in the exact region where my family would live decades later, where my kids would play in those woods.

Plum Island sits 13 miles from Lyme, Connecticut. The Plum Island Animal Disease Center — managed by the Army Chemical Corps for biological warfare research from 1952 to 1969 — conducted outdoor experiments with live pathogens, maintained tick nurseries stocked with specimens from as far away as Cameroon, and had documented containment failures where “test animals mingled with wild deer, test birds with wild birds.” Wildlife crossed freely between the island and the mainland. By the 1990s, the eastern end of Long Island had “by far the greatest concentration of Lyme disease” in the world. If you drew a circle around the global epicenter of the Lyme epidemic, the center of that circle was Plum Island.

The man who discovered the Lyme bacterium spent his career weaponizing ticks — and suppressed a critical finding. Willy Burgdorfer identified Borrelia burgdorferi in his landmark 1982 study. What he didn’t include: he had also found a second pathogen in Lyme patient blood samples — something he called “Swiss Agent.” Blood from Lyme patients showed “very strong reactions” to Swiss Agent. He left it out of the study entirely. That suppression lasted over 40 years.

In 2013 video testimony, Burgdorfer confirmed his bioweapons research background and “insinuated there had been an accidental release of some sort.” After cameras stopped rolling, he told researchers with a smile: “I didn’t tell you everything.” He died in 2014 without saying more. Among the unpublished materials researchers found in his garage: a note that read, “I wondered why somebody didn’t do something.”

The program was almost as large as the Manhattan Project. Defense Secretary Robert McNamara authorized Project 112 in 1962 — a bioweapons program involving 134 scheduled tests between 1962 and 1974, production facilities capable of breeding 100 million infected mosquitoes monthly and 50 million fleas weekly, and testing sites across multiple countries including Cuba. The military categorically denied the program’s existence until 2000, when a CBS News investigation forced acknowledgment.

A Pattern You’ve Seen Before

If this story feels familiar, it should.

The Malone investigation directly compared the institutional response to Lyme’s origins with two other cases: COVID-19 origins and Spain’s 2019 African swine fever outbreak, which emerged 150 meters from a research facility. Across all three cases — different countries, different eras, different political systems — the pattern was identical:

We watched this exact playbook unfold in real time with COVID. The people who dismissed the lab-leak hypothesis as a “conspiracy theory” in 2020 were quietly acknowledging its plausibility by 2023. The FBI, the Department of Energy, and eventually even Anthony Fauci conceded the hypothesis deserved serious investigation.

The question isn’t whether governments lie about bioweapons accidents. History proves they do — consistently, for decades, sometimes for generations. The question is why we keep acting surprised when they do.

What This Means for the Millions Still Suffering

This isn’t just history. It has direct clinical implications for people who are sick right now.

If Swiss Agent co-infections are real — if a second pathogen was present in those original Lyme patient samples and deliberately excluded from the research record — then current treatment protocols may be systemically inadequate. Treatment for a disease caused by a laboratory-modified organism can differ significantly from treatment for a naturally occurring one.

The chronic Lyme debate has consumed patients and doctors for four decades. Patients with persistent symptoms after antibiotic treatment have been dismissed, disbelieved, and told their suffering is psychosomatic. The co-authors of Burgdorfer’s original 1982 paper now acknowledge that Swiss Agent research “should be done” because “public health concerns warrant a closer look.”

The CDC is reportedly now using molecular techniques to analyze 30,000 blood samples from people suspected of tick-borne illness — potentially validating the findings Burgdorfer suppressed. That’s welcome. It’s also four decades overdue.

What Needs to Happen

The CDC estimates 476,000 Americans are diagnosed with Lyme disease every year. The disease is expanding north and west into regions that never had it before. The economic cost runs into the tens of billions annually. Millions of chronic sufferers remain in medical limbo.

Congress took a small step in 2019 when the House passed an amendment requiring the Pentagon to investigate tick weaponization research between 1950 and 1975 and determine whether any ticks “were released outside of any laboratory by accident or experiment design.”

The Pentagon has never fully complied.

My kids are grown now. They still suffer the consequences of that disease.

Thousands of families in Loudoun County, on Long Island, in Connecticut — families who played in those same woods, who camped, who scouted, who did everything right — are still suffering.

If the government’s own documents suggest that military programs contributed to why those families got sick — the least we owe them is the truth.

An intelligence assessment produced by the Central Intelligence Agency on October 6, 2021 identified “traditional motherhood” and “homemaking” as indicators of white racially and ethnically motivated violent extremism.

The document — Women Advancing White Racially and Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremist Radicalization and Recruitment — was released in redacted form by the Trump administration and surfaced Wednesday night by America First Legal. It has since been viewed nearly 900,000 times.

The CIA’s key assessment:

“We assess that female members have been emerging as key players of the transnational white racially and ethnically motivated violent extremist (REMVE) movement, taking on diverse roles to advance white REMVE goals — including the white REMVE view of traditional motherhood — and successfully participating in newer roles in propaganda and recruitment.”

The document then references a specific organization — identity redacted — and notes that it “has lauded motherhood and homemaking as women’s most important responsibility.”

Read that again. The CIA’s analytical framework for identifying extremist networks included, as a behavioral indicator, the belief that motherhood is a woman’s most important responsibility.

The document’s own definitions made their assertions even MORE problematic:

The assessment explicitly defined “white REMVE-sympathetic actors” as:

“Individuals or groups who may not openly advocate violence but amplify white REMVE narratives regarding their perceptions of racial and ethnic hierarchy, as well as perceived threats from those they see as advocating multiculturalism and globalization.”

Definitions page. “May not openly advocate violence” but holds conventional views on culture and family = REMVE-sympathetic, per the CIA framework.

This is not a fringe memo. This is a CIA Intelligence Assessment — the same product type used to brief the President of the United States.

The Timing

The assessment was drafted in the same seven-day window as one of the most controversial law enforcement actions of the Biden era.

On September 29, 2021, the National School Boards Association sent a letter to President Biden comparing concerned parents at school board meetings to domestic terrorists. Five days later — October 4 — Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a directive to the FBI and DOJ to develop “strategies for addressing threats against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff.”

Two days after that: the CIA drafted this assessment.

The NSBA later rescinded the letter and apologized. Garland’s memo became a political liability that followed him for years. But the CIA document didn’t come out until now.

The Pattern

It would be charitable to treat this as an isolated analytical error. The problem is that it fits an unmistakable pattern of the 2021–2023 federal apparatus:

• The NSBA called parents “domestic terrorists” (September 2021)

• AG Garland directed the FBI to target those parents (October 4, 2021)

• The CIA drafted this assessment (October 6, 2021)

• The DOJ worked closely with the SPLC, which placed Moms for Liberty on its “hate map” alongside Klan chapters (2023)

• The FBI’s Richmond office cited the SPLC in a memo targeting “radical-traditional Catholics” — later rescinded

• The FBI officially cut all ties with the SPLC (2025)

Each piece was defensible in isolation. “We’re just analyzing extremist networks.” “We’re responding to credible threats.” “We’re citing available research.”

Together, they describe a federal apparatus that had decided, somewhere in the 2021–2023 window, that conservative American women living conventional lives were a national security concern.

What Changed

The Trump administration’s decision to release this document matters — not because it’s surprising, but because we now have it in writing.

For years, conservatives argued that the intelligence and law enforcement apparatus had been turned on ordinary citizens: parents, churchgoers, people who believed in borders and traditional families. They were told they were paranoid.

The CIA disagreed with them in a classified document dated October 6, 2021.

The FBI later cut ties with the SPLC. The NSBA apologized. Garland’s memo became a cautionary tale. The assessment was officially retracted by the Trump administration.

But it was built. The framework existed. For at least two years, “motherhood and homemaking” lived inside a CIA extremism model — compiled, classified, and presumably briefed up the chain.

That’s not something you can unwrite.

I’m a third-generation Californian raising a fourthgeneration of kids in the Golden State (Jenny’s family goes back 3 more generations!), but it’s getting harder and harder to ignore the warning signs of a failed state.

The latest warning is not subtle. A CBS News investigation reports that Los Angeles County hospice fraud indicators are not shrinking after crackdowns. They are spreading. If this holds, we are not looking at isolated misconduct. We are looking at a systemic governance failure in end-of-life care.

The Math That Should Alarm Californians

hese are not marginal anomalies. They are pattern-level signals. California’s own 2022 state audit already warned about this environment, citing a 1,500% increase in LA hospice companies since 2010 and an estimated $105 million in Medicare overbilling in one year.

A Human Story Behind the Spreadsheet

CBS highlighted Lynn Ianni, a 69-year-old pickleball player who said she discovered she was listed in hospice care when Medicare denied physical therapy coverage after an injury. Her Medicare number had allegedly been stolen and used for fraudulent enrollment.

“They said, ‘you’re in hospice.’ And I said, ‘what? What are you talking about? Are you kidding me? Do I look like I’m in hospice?’”

That is what system failure looks like in real life: not a hearing, not a press release, but a legitimate patient locked out of care because fraud data entered the system first.

Ghost Hospice, Clustering, and the Accountability Lag

CBS reports nearly 500 hospices operating within a 3-mile radius in LA, with 137 on Van Nuys Boulevard alone. One building listed 89 registered hospice companies, while the owner reportedly said only 12 were active tenants, raising concerns about so-called “ghost hospices.”

Even more striking: the investigation found overlap in key personnel, including one medical director listed across 45 hospices and 75 people simultaneously tied to five or more companies. State auditors have explicitly described this type of overlap as a fraud warning signal.

California says it has revoked 280 licenses. The attorney general says more than 100 defendants have been targeted in criminal hospice fraud cases. Those actions matter. But they also underscore the core problem: accountability arrives after losses and after patient harm.

This Pattern Is Familiar to Californians

Many Californians already know this policy rhythm from 2020–2021: warnings emerge, institutions reassure, harms mount, and serious accountability comes late.

Different policy area, same structural failure mode:

• Detection without fast intervention

• Public messaging without transparent scorecards

• Enforcement after damage, not before

We don’t have a red-flag identification problem. We have an enforcement velocity problem.

What Real Reform Would Look Like

• Ownership transparency: public beneficial ownership records for every hospice entity

• Real-time anomaly triggers: auto-escalation when billing/staffing/clustering thresholds are crossed

• Rapid suspension authority: temporary operational holds when multiple fraud indicators stack up

• Public provider scorecards: clear risk and enforcement records for families and referrers

• Agency accountability: mandatory performance review when warning clusters persist

Love of State Means Refusing to Normalize Decline

I love California. That is exactly why this matters. You don’t ask more from a place you hate. You ask more from a place you still believe can work.

If fraud can scale in end-of-life care years after official alarms and reforms, this is not a one-off crime problem. It is a governance problem. And governance problems only improve when consequences become faster, clearer, and unavoidable.

For years, the public was told to trust the experts, trust the institutions, trust the process. The problem wasn’t expertise. The problem was authority without consequences.

When predictions failed, guidance reversed, and confidence stayed artificially high, trust didn’t just decline. It broke.

In most professions, repeated high-impact misses trigger correction. In the expert-media-policy ecosystem, too often they triggered a rebrand.

The Three-Layer Accountability Gap

1. Narrative insulation: bad calls reframed as unavoidable uncertainty, not measurable error.

2. Institutional buffering: prestige absorbed reputational damage that would sink credibility elsewhere.

3. No scorecard: the public got moving goalposts instead of transparent performance tracking.

What This Looked Like in Practice (From Rational Ground)

1) Early dissent was punished, then quietly validated

In Doing the Work (2020), Rational Ground challenged high-confidence claims about school reopening and policy certainty in real time. Years later, The Complete Reckoning: 150+ Studies (2026) documented broad collateral damage from lockdown-era policy decisions.

Pattern: people warning early were stigmatized, then major portions of their critique were absorbed later with little institutional self-audit.

2) “Misinformation” labels without retrospective accountability

The Vindicated Professor traces Jay Bhattacharya’s arc from institutional outcast to central policy figure. You can agree or disagree with any specific position, but the accountability question remains: if institutions delegitimize dissent and later incorporate parts of it, where is the visible reckoning for the earlier suppression?

3) Origin uncertainty framed as settled truth

In Six Years Ago Today, They Chose the Lie, the argument is that uncertainty was managed politically before it was managed scientifically. When institutions later revise without owning the communication failure, trust decays at the root.

4) Regulatory oversight and the “too late” cycle

Breaking: Why Regulators Missed DNA Contamination highlighted concerns that were treated as fringe before becoming harder to dismiss. The issue is not that institutions can’t miss. The issue is that misses often carry no visible penalty and no obvious process reform.

5) Repeated system failures, same confidence posture

They Found Another One revisits institutional blind spots around biosecurity failures. Different place, similar institutional posture, same confidence tone.

6) Institutional legitimacy and international governance

Good Riddance: The US Finally Exits the WHO captures the political culmination of trust erosion. Whether readers celebrate or oppose the move, the decision reflects a deeper legitimacy crisis that built over years of perceived non-accountability.

The Core Point

This is not anti-expert populism. It’s pro-accountability realism.

People can handle uncertainty. What they won’t tolerate forever is certainty theater without consequences.

What Real Accountability Would Require

• Public track records, not just elite credentials

• Explicit error logs on major policy calls

• Clear separation between analysis and advocacy

• Fast, visible correction loops

• Leadership consequences for repeated high-impact misses

Until that exists, “trust the experts” will keep sounding like “don’t ask questions.” And once the public hears that subtext, trust doesn’t come back on command.

Guest: So the timeline is that I was at NowThis from 2015 to 2021. And so I was there through COVID, the COVID stuff too. And so, and I was visible. I was an on-camera person the whole time I was there. So the whole world shut down at the peak of COVID, it was something like 17%... we saw a 17% reduction in our carbon emissions. The peak of COVID. So that’s like just like those two weeks. Over the year, it ended up being something like a 5% reduction. And I’m thinking to myself, wait a minute, the climate movement wants a 100% reduction in our carbon emissions. What is it going to expect of our society?

Interviewer: Yeah, we’re literally locked in our homes, not doing anything.

Guest: And we still have carbon emissions. And so that was the first moment where I go, hold on. I don’t know if I want to live in a world where we have zero carbon emissions because I’m kind of depressed right now at home. Like this sucks. And we have no freedoms. And so what does the climate movement, if you take it to its logical conclusion, it’s not going to be no big deal. Like it’s going to require people to give up their freedoms to like lower carbon emissions.

And so that was one thing. And then the other thing was I was very anti-plastic. And all of a sudden like the PPEs everywhere, the masks, the plastic barriers between every table at a restaurant, and when you’re checking out your food at the grocery store. And I’m like, wait a minute. I have been sweating about a single-use plastic straw for the past five years, and now we’ve proliferated more plastic in the last few months than I’ve seen in my lifetime. And it... and also looking around, we seem like we’re fine. It looks like our society was able to absorb that plastic and the world has not ended.

It’s like we can’t, we don’t have time for nuance. We just have to push forward the most extreme narrative because this is a fire alarm situation and the planet is going to be destroyed. So like, we don’t have time to think about the downsides of solar and wind. Like we have to just keep pushing forward because this is existential. And so I didn’t... so I subscribed to that where I’m like, you know, this is an existential threat and we don’t have time to like look at the details. Like, you know, we just have to get people to care, um, and to be afraid. And because if they’re afraid, they’re going to change their habits.

When I was in the climate movement, I got my identity from being a good person and from being on the right side of history. And so I identified with that. And so good people don’t question the climate movement. You know, good people don’t listen to fossil fuel shills or defend fossil fuels. Good people don’t question the climate narrative. And so this identity of being good... and I talked a little bit about this idea of atoning, right? Because everyone’s obsessed with the white privilege and everything. And I’m realizing like, oh my gosh, I’m an oppressor by being a white woman and from America. And so I need to atone for my sins by pushing and being part of this movement. And that is what makes me good. And so if I’m going to leave this, I’m no longer going to be seen as good and I’m no longer a good person. So who am I? And then that’s when you have to start doing the work of building up yourself.

This isn’t a partisan talking point. It’s the conclusion of the U.S. State Department, which has designated Iran the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism every single year since 1984. Forty consecutive years. Every administration. Both parties.

So what does $100 billion in terror funding actually look like in practice?

It looks like the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing — 241 U.S. Marines killed in their sleep, Hezbollah’s fingerprints all over it, Iran’s money and training behind the operation. It looks like the Khobar Towers attack in 1996 (19 U.S. airmen). Let me see if I have this straight.

The same people who wanted to chain you to your bedpost for months. Who barred your children from school for years. Who mandated that you strap a flimsy cloth over your face and inject yourself with a brand-new approach to vaccines. Who told you which businesses were “essential” and which could die. Who closed the churches on Easter and turned grandmothers into prisoners behind glass.

These people are now deeply concerned that Jay Bhattacharya — the Stanford professor who dared to question all of it — has too much power.

You can’t make this up.

The Latest Panic

The Hill published a piece this weekend breathlessly reporting that “public health experts and former federal staffers are uneasy” because Bhattacharya, who already runs the NIH, has been tapped as acting CDC director while the administration finds a permanent pick.

The usual suspects are trotted out. Kayla Hancock from “Protect Our Care” — a progressive health advocacy group — calls Jay “someone who very clearly has an ax to grind with science.” James Alwine, professor emeritus at UPenn, says Bhattacharya’s motivations “don’t align” with the CDC’s mission of “promoting and protecting public health.”

A former CDC physician named Elizabeth Soda offers the quiet part out loud: “MAHA’s beliefs, I think, are just so contrary to what CDC represents.”

Let that land for a second.

The woman is saying that “Make America Healthy Again” — the idea that Americans should actually be healthier — is “contrary to what the CDC represents.”

She’s... not wrong. Just not in the way she thinks.

What the CDC Actually Represents (A Refresher)

We’ve been tracking the CDC’s record at Rational Ground for nearly six years now. Let me remind you what they’ve been up to:

They hid data. The CDC sat on critical case surveillance data and released it only under pressure. When it finally came out, we found that nearly half of newly reported COVID-19 deaths were six or more months old. They weren’t tracking a pandemic. They were curating a narrative.

They manufactured data. They changed the definitions — literally. “Vaccine.” “Pandemic.” “Herd immunity.” “Natural immunity.” When reality didn’t match the policy, they rewrote the dictionary. We documented 70 separate anti-science moments from the COVID era, many of them originating from the CDC itself (the list itself curated by Dr. Jay as well).

They censored dissent. Jay Bhattacharya joined Twitter in August 2021 and was immediately shadow-banned — placed on a “Trends Blacklist” so his evidence-based arguments could never reach the trending page. They sacrificed the children. School closures produced catastrophic learning loss — particularly in blue states that followed CDC guidance most faithfully. Kids were forced to eat six feet apart, outdoors, in silence. Toddlers were masked. Zoom school became the norm. (A reminder that school “advocate” Randi Weingarten’s fingerprints were all over it.)

They buried the vaccine injuries. While pushing an emergency-authorized product on every American regardless of risk profile, they downplayed evidence of vaccine-induced myocarditis — particularly in young men who faced minimal risk from COVID itself. (We compiled 388 studies documenting the phenomenon they told you was “extremely rare.”)

This is the institution that these experts think Jay Bhattacharya will damage?

They’re Not Worried About Power. They’re Worried About Accountability.

Let’s name the real fear here. It’s not that Jay has “too much power.” It’s that the CDC has too much to answer for — and now someone who knows exactly where the bodies are buried is running the place.

Jay is not some outsider. He’s a Stanford professor of medicine and health economics. He ran one of the earliest seroprevalence studies that showed the infection fatality rate was far lower than the apocalyptic projections. He co-authored the Great Barrington Declaration — a document proposing “focused protection” for the vulnerable while letting the rest of society function. For this, Francis Collins called him a “fringe epidemiologist” and called for a “devastating takedown.”

We know this because we read the emails. Because we fought the censorship. The Hill quotes Alwine suggesting that Bhattacharya is “getting back at those who criticized him.” As if holding people accountable for documented failures is a personal vendetta.

When Jay sat down with the New York Times last month, he explained his naïveté: “I thought that the data would change everybody’s mind about how to manage the pandemic. Instead, I faced attacks on my character, an attempt to destroy my career, questions about the integrity of my work that were completely spurious.”

He thought being right would be enough. We all did.

Now he’s in charge. And the people who were wrong — wrong about lockdowns, wrong about school closures, wrong about masks, wrong about natural immunity, wrong about censorship, wrong about gain-of-function — are worried that the man who was right about all of it might actually do something about it.

Jay’s Email to CDC Staff

Here’s what’s actually happening at the CDC, as opposed to what The Hill’s anonymous hand-wringers want you to believe. In his email to CDC staff on Friday, Bhattacharya laid out three principles:

2. Ensure every investigation reflects responsibility to the communities they serve

3. Strengthen internal review processes for accountability and openness

Transparency. Accountability. Openness.

The lockdowners are terrified of transparency. That tells you everything.

I’ll close with something Jay said in his NYT interview that has stuck with me:

“What if you opened Pandora’s box? What would you do? You’ve unleashed hell on the world. And you’re responsible for it. What would you do?”

That’s the real question the CDC’s defenders don’t want to face. Not “Does Jay have too much power?” but “What will he find when he opens the books?”

Bob Redfield isn’t some podcaster with a theory (like yours truly). He ran the CDC. He has top-secret clearance with compartmentalized access. He was in the room when decisions were made. And now seemingly unburdened by career considerations — he’s telling us exactly what happened.

On the Lab Leak

“There’s only one conclusion about the origins of COVID and that is that it came from the lab. It came from gain of function research.”

This isn’t speculation. Redfield has seen the classified data. He’s one of three people at HHS with the highest compartmental clearance during the pandemic. And he’s frustrated that the full evidence still hasn’t been declassified.

“There’s some very important classified data that would allow the American public to have a much clearer understanding of why people like me are so certain that this virus came from a lab.”

On the Cover-Up

Redfield doesn’t mince words about what happened behind closed doors:

Unfortunately, Collins and Fauci had made the decision that there was only one explanation that was going to be considered for the origin of the virus, and that was natural spillover.”

He was excluded from the infamous February 1 call because — in his words — they knew he wouldn’t go along with the narrative:

“I was told that one of the reasons I wasn’t included in the discussion of the group was that they had decided as a group that they were going to come out with a single opinion, which is very non-scientific in and of itself, because science isn’t a consensus group. We don’t do consensus. That’s politics.”

And the media played along. When Redfield went on CNN with Sanjay Gupta and said he believed it came from a lab, Scientific American immediately attacked him — calling it a “conspiracy theory” and saying he wasn’t “an authority on the science.”

The price for truth? He was called a racist. Maryland’s legislature passed resolutions to censure him. They tried to get Governor Hogan to fire him. All for stating what the evidence showed.

On Masks

The 180-degree flip on masks wasn’t science — it was politics:

“What Tony did originally was there was a shortage of masks for hospital workers. And so they decided to tell the public that there was no need to wear masks because they wanted to keep the mask for the high-risk essential hospital workers. So in other words, it was sort of a political statement, not a scientific statement.”

And did masks ever work to prevent you from getting infected?

“We were never able to show to convince me that masks significantly decreased when I’m exposed that I’d get infected... It wasn’t an effective strategy. It didn’t work. It shouldn’t have been mandated.”

Let me repeat that: It wasn’t an effective strategy. It didn’t work. It shouldn’t have been mandated. That’s the former CDC director talking.

On Vaccine Mandates

Another admission that should have come years ago:

“Vaccine mandates were a big mistake. Shutting down schools was a big mistake.”

We knew this. We documented it. We screamed it from the rooftops. And we were called anti-science, conspiracy theorists, and worse.

On mRNA Vaccines

This is where it gets really interesting. Redfield questions whether mRNA shots should have ever been classified as vaccines:

“The mRNA vaccines really should not have been classified as vaccines. They don’t prevent infection... It really should have been handled probably as a gene therapeutic, which was in a way co-opting your body through nucleic acid chemistry to become a production factory of the spike protein.”

The spike protein is an immunotoxin. And unlike natural infection — where your body clears the virus in 2-4 weeks — mRNA can have you producing spike for months. Maybe years.

“I don’t know how much you make of the spike protein. And I think the FDA should require both Moderna and Pfizer to show in 100 or 1000 people what the boundaries are and how much you make... I don’t know how long you make it. I know people who make six months, and longer... I’ve seen up to a couple of years.”

His conclusion?

“There’s so much uncertainty about the mRNA COVID vaccines that they should at least be curtailed. I think CDC did the right thing to move the recommendation to over 65 and not recommend it for children... If I was to guess, 24 to 36 months from now, I don’t think these vaccines will be on the market.”

Read that again. The former CDC director doesn’t think these vaccines will be on the market in 2-3 years. And he’s calling for FDA warnings in the meantime.

On the Proximal Origin Paper

The infamous paper that “debunked” the lab leak theory? Fraud.

“I think the proximal origin paper needs to be retracted, period. I think it’s close to fraud. The pandemic we know started probably in August, September, and that’s been declassified... That’s a fraudulent paper, and it was created by scientists, I think under the direction of Jeremy Farrar, with input from Fauci, to create a scenario that there was a scientific background that this virus came from the wet market.”

Even George Gao — his counterpart at the Chinese CDC — admitted within the first week of January 2020 that it had nothing to do with the wet market. Yet the Western scientific establishment kept pushing the lie.

On Long COVID and Vaccine Injury

Redfield sees patients. Real people suffering from both long COVID and vaccine injury. And he’s blunt about how the medical establishment has failed them:

“Most of the medical community tells them it’s not the vaccine, it’s in their head. My original patients, most of them all came — whether they had long COVID or vaccine injury — they all came via psychiatry. Because the medical community said they couldn’t have this, this doesn’t exist. But it’s very real.”

The vaccine-injured take longer to recover than long COVID patients. Three to five years for long COVID. Longer for vaccine injury. And Redfield is one of about a dozen doctors in the country actually treating these patients.

The Bottom Line

Here’s how Redfield closes his book:

“The days of believing authorities because they are in an authoritative position are over. The way to convince people to follow recommendations is to provide evidence that the recommendation is not arbitrary or politically motivated, but based on science.”

They lied about the lab leak. They lied about masks. They lied about vaccines. They mandated treatments they knew didn’t prevent transmission. They vilified anyone who questioned the narrative — including their own former CDC director.

And now they want us to trust them again?

A colleague asked me last week: “What happened? We’ve had AI for three years. Why is everyone suddenly losing their minds?”

It’s a fair question. ChatGPT launched in November 2022. We’ve had GPT-4, Claude, Gemini — three years of frontier models that could write essays, analyze spreadsheets, draft marketing copy. I’ve used all of them, every day, since the beginning.

And here’s what three years of AI gave me: more work.

Not less. More. Better strategies I didn’t have time to implement. Brilliant analyses that sat in Google Docs. Content calendars that never got executed. Campaign optimizations I knew would work but couldn’t staff.

I was drowning in strategy docs. AI had become the world’s most productive consultant — endlessly generating recommendations I couldn’t act on. Like hiring McKinsey but having no employees to implement anything they said.

The Hands Problem

What happened in the last few months is that AI got hands. Persistent memory across sessions. The ability to operate real software — browsers, databases, APIs, file systems. Sub-agents that spin up, do a job, and report back. Scheduled tasks that run at 2 AM while you sleep.

The model didn’t change. The operating model changed. AI went from a consultant who emails you a deck to a team member who ships the work.

Let me show you what that looks like in practice.

Case Study 1: The Creative Machine

The problem: I manage SMS/MMS fundraising campaigns for a nonprofit. Every campaign needs fresh creative — emotional copy, properly formatted, compliant with messaging regulations, uploaded to a specific dashboard with precise field requirements. A typical campaign needs 4-8 creatives, each manually entered.

The old way: I’d spend 5-6 hours per day writing copy, testing variations, uploading to the campaign platform. Every. Single. Day.

What AI does now — the full loop:

Three different AI models — Claude, GPT, and Gemini — competed in a “creative shootout.” Each got the same brief: our historical performance data, our compliance constraints, our donor demographics, our best-performing patterns. They produced 24 creatives across 8 concepts.

I picked 4 winners. Then the AI:

• Downloaded fresh photos from the nonprofit’s website

• Resized images to meet platform requirements (under 600KB)

• Selected the correct client from the dropdown

The CEO called afterward. One word: “Blown away.”

The AI didn’t just answer questions. It identified the insight nobody had surfaced: their secondary market was converting at a third the rate of their primary — same ad spend, same lead volume, wildly different close rates. This is the one that convinced me. Not the creative pipelines or the live demos. This. Because everyone has a version of this task — the one that’s not hard enough to hire someone for, not important enough to build a system around, but just annoying enough to ruin 45 minutes of your afternoon three times a month.

AI handles it now. All of them. Every single one.

What Actually Changed

If you’ve read this far and you’re thinking “OK, but I’ve used ChatGPT and it’s not like this” — you’re right. It’s not. Here’s what’s different:

Persistence. My AI remembers context across days and weeks. It knows my clients, my preferences, my tools, my voice. I don’t re-explain anything. It picks up where we left off, every session.

Parallelism. It spawns sub-agents. While one is analyzing data, another is researching content, a third is downloading images, a fourth is drafting copy. They work simultaneously and coordinate through shared files.

Tool use. It operates real software. Browsers, databases, APIs, file systems, CLIs. It doesn’t describe what you should do in Salesforce — it queries Salesforce. It doesn’t suggest what to type in the form — it fills in the form.

Scheduling. Tasks run at 2 AM. Analyses complete overnight. Engagement sweeps fire twice a day. Morning briefings arrive before I’m out of bed.

Memory. It takes notes. It updates its own documentation. It learns from mistakes. When something breaks, it documents the fix so it doesn’t break again.

This isn’t a chatbot you type questions into. It’s an operating system for knowledge work.

The Question That Matters

My colleague’s question was “why is this different?” But that’s the wrong question.

The right question is: “What are you still doing manually that you shouldn’t be?”

Not “what could AI theoretically help with” — we’ve been answering that for three years. The question is what can you hand off. Entirely. Today.

For me, the answer turned out to be about 70% of my workday. The remaining 30% — the creative direction, the strategic judgment, the relationship management — is better because I actually have time and energy for it.

Then I had to grab lunch before a 1:00 client meeting. So I asked it to chunk the draft into audio files and send them to me on Telegram. I listened to my own article — written by my AI, about my AI — through voice messages in a drive-through lane.

I sent my revision notes by voice memo while waiting for my food. The edits were done before I got back to the office.

This is my life now. And honestly? AI was driving the car too.

On Saturday morning, an FBI tactical team and LVMPD SWAT officers rolled up to two residential homes in northeast Las Vegas and executed search warrants. What they found in the locked garages would be unbelievable — if we hadn’t seen it before.

Multiple refrigerators. Vials of unknown liquids. Gallon-size containers. A centrifuge. Lab equipment. More than 1,000 samples — collected, cataloged, and shipped to the National Bio-forensic Analysis Center in Maryland for testing.

The homes belong to Jiabei “Jesse” Zhu, a 62-year-old Chinese citizen who is — and I need you to sit with this — already in federal custody. His property manager, Ori Solomon, 55, was arrested on the spot and charged with felony hazardous waste disposal. Three renters were removed from the home. They apparently had no idea what was in the garage. ABC News reported the investigation began the way these things always seem to begin — with a code violation call.

The Las Vegas property sits less than three miles from Nellis Air Force Base — home of the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center.

If you’re feeling a creeping sense of déjà vu, you should be. Because this is the second time. Same guy. Same network. Same playbook. Different city.

They found another one.

The Reedley Lab — Where This All Started

In December 2022, a code enforcement inspector in Reedley, California — a small city of about 25,000 people near Fresno — noticed something odd about a warehouse across from a residential neighborhood, not far from the local high school. A garden hose was illegally connected to the building.

What the inspector found inside was the stuff of thriller novels.

Chinese nationals in lab coats. Thousands of vials containing blood, tissue, bodily fluid samples, and serums. At least 20 known infectious agents, including HIV, tuberculosis, and what officials described as the “deadliest known form of malaria.” There was a freezer — labeled “Ebola.” Its contents were never tested. Vials throughout the facility were labeled in a code that was never deciphered.

And then there were the mice. One thousand transgenic mice, genetically engineered to catch and carry COVID-19.

This was not a pharmaceutical startup with sloppy paperwork. This was something else entirely. The House Select Committee on the CCP investigated and found a “lack of apparent legitimate (or even profit-motivated criminal) motive” for the operation. The supposed business — buying counterfeit COVID test kits from China and reselling them in the U.S. — didn’t explain the transgenic mice. It didn’t explain the infectious agents. It didn’t explain the unexplained wire transfers Zhu was receiving from Chinese banks.

Nothing explained it. And almost nobody in the federal government wanted to find out.

Who Is Jesse Zhu?

Let’s talk about the man at the center of this.

Jiabei “Jesse” Zhu is a Chinese citizen who previously served as vice chairman of Henan Pioneer Aide Biological Engineering — a PRC state-controlled enterprise. That’s not an inference or a characterization. The corporate ownership chain runs through the China Development Bank, the National Council for Social Security Fund, and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. He was connected to Henan Investment Group, which has been described as being “involved in military-civil fusion” — the CCP’s strategy of erasing the line between civilian industry and military capability.

Zhu fled to Canada, where he set up dozens of corporations to steal American biotech intellectual property. The British Columbia Supreme Court found what it called “fraud on an epic scale” and levied a $330 million judgment against him.

So he fled again — this time to America, where he assumed the alias “David He” and set up shop. Universal Meditech Inc. Prestige Biotech Inc. Shell companies for an operation that stretched from a warehouse in Reedley to residential garages in Las Vegas.

He was indicted in 2023 on charges of wire fraud, conspiracy, false statements, and distributing misbranded COVID test kits. His trial is set for March 10, 2026. His partner, Zhaoyan Wang, is believed to be in China — beyond the reach of U.S. law enforcement.

And here’s the kicker: Zhu is suing Reedley and Fresno County for destroying his lab materials. The man who was running an illegal biolab with HIV samples and COVID-engineered mice across from a residential neighborhood is claiming he’s the victim.

The CDC Hung Up the Phone

This is where the story goes from alarming to infuriating.

When Reedley officials discovered the lab, they did what any reasonable local government would do — they called the CDC. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The agency whose entire reason for existence is to protect Americans from biological threats.

The CDC refused to investigate.

Not “declined to prioritize.” Not “referred to another agency.” They hung up on local officials. When U.S. Representative Jim Costa got involved and pressured the CDC to at least send inspectors, they came — and then refused to test any of the samples.

Read that again. A warehouse full of infectious agents, transgenic mice, and a freezer labeled “Ebola” — and the CDC wouldn’t test any of it.

The Select Committee on the CCP called the CDC’s refusal “baffling.” That’s congressional language for something far less polite. And the consequence of that refusal isn’t just bureaucratic embarrassment — it’s legal. Without tested samples, bioterrorism charges against Zhu become functionally impossible to prove. The CDC didn’t just fail to act. It may have made accountability impossible.

The Biden-era FBI wasn’t much better. Their response to Reedley was effectively: “No WMDs detected. This is your case. You guys go do it.” They left a city of 25,000 people — with a $14 million annual budget — to clean up an illegal biolab linked to CCP-affiliated entities. At their own expense.

Same Defendant. Different Response.

Now compare that to what happened in Las Vegas last Saturday.

The FBI showed up with a specialized evidence collection team. Proper chain of custody. Systematic cataloging. More than 1,000 samples carefully packaged and sent to the National Bio-forensic Analysis Center in Maryland — a facility specifically designed for this kind of work. Fox News reported the full federal response, including SWAT.

Same defendant. Same network. Same type of lab. Radically different response.

As Rep. Kevin Kiley noted, the contrast between the two responses is stark — and telling.

Nicole Zieba, Reedley’s city manager, put it best in an interview with GV Wire: “For years now, we have been trying to raise the alarm that we have a big problem in this country... Now you’ve got the small of the small, Reedley, and the big of the big, Vegas, with the same national security problem.”

That’s not a partisan talking point. That’s a city manager who spent years begging the federal government to take a biological threat seriously and watched them shrug.

Mask Theater vs. Actual Biolabs

I want to put something in perspective, because this is where the institutional rot becomes impossible to ignore.

In 2021, we published a piece at Rational Ground on dangerous pathogens found on children’s face masks. Lab analysis found tuberculosis bacteria, pneumonia, meningitis — all on the masks we were strapping to kids’ faces in the name of “following the science.”

The CDC — the same CDC that insisted toddlers wear masks on airplanes, that pushed universal masking in schools for years, that made “layers of protection” its institutional mantra — could not be bothered to test the contents of an illegal biolab operating in a California warehouse.

Let that sink in.

We spent years engaged in mask theater — mandating cloth coverings that trapped pathogens against children’s faces — while an actual CCP-linked biological laboratory sat in a warehouse across from a neighborhood in the San Joaquin Valley. With HIV. With tuberculosis. With COVID-engineered mice. With a freezer labeled Ebola.

And the CDC? The agency that told you to double-mask? That insisted your three-year-old needed a face covering to board a flight?

They wouldn’t test any of it. They hung up the phone.

The same bureaucracy that would hound a restaurant owner for seating capacity violations during lockdowns decided that an illegal biolab with 20 infectious agents was someone else’s problem. The irony isn’t just devastating — it’s disqualifying. These are not serious people protecting public health. These are bureaucrats protecting their budgets and their reputations.

How Many More?

Here’s the question that should keep you up at night.

The Select Committee’s report on Reedley concluded with a line that deserves to be carved into the wall of every federal agency with “health” or “security” in its name: “No one knows whether there are other unknown biolabs because there is no monitoring system in place.”

No monitoring system. None. In the United States of America — a country that spent trillions on COVID response, that shut down the economy, that closed schools, that tracked your vaccination status — there is no system to detect illegal biological laboratories operating on American soil.

Both Reedley and Las Vegas were discovered the same way: a code violation call. A garden hose. A neighbor complaint. That’s it. That’s our national biodefense strategy — hoping someone notices something weird and calls code enforcement.

The Reedley lab operated for over a year before anyone looked. How long was the Las Vegas operation running? We don’t know yet. And how many others are out there right now — in garages, warehouses, and rented homes — that nobody has stumbled across?

Jennifer Van Laar’s reporting at RedState and The Bureau’s deep investigative work have done more to expose this story than the entire federal public health apparatus. That’s not a compliment to the journalists — though they deserve one — it’s an indictment of the system.

Pass the Damn Bill

Representatives Kevin Kiley, Jim Costa, and David Valadao introduced the “Preventing Illegal Laboratories and Protecting Public Health Act” — bipartisan legislation that would create federal standards for detecting and responding to illegal biolabs.

It still hasn’t passed.

We’re now two labs in. Same guy. Same CCP-linked network. Two American cities. One near a high school. One near an Air Force base. A thousand vials of God-knows-what shipped to Maryland for testing. A freezer labeled Ebola that was never tested. Transgenic mice engineered for COVID. Wire transfers from Chinese banks with no explanation. A $330 million fraud judgment from a Canadian court. An alias. A network of shell companies. And a trial date in five weeks.

And Congress still hasn’t passed the law that would create a basic monitoring framework to find the next one.

Because there will be a next one. The Select Committee told us so. The pattern told us so. And the fact that our only detection method is a code enforcement call told us so.

Jesse Zhu’s trial begins March 10. The evidence collected in Las Vegas may reshape that case entirely — assuming the current administration follows through where the last one refused to. The early signs are better. The FBI showed up this time. They brought the right team. They’re testing the samples.

But the structural problem remains. We have no monitoring system. No federal framework. No early warning. We’re relying on garden hoses and nosy neighbors to protect us from CCP-linked biological operations on American soil.

They found another one. The question is how many they haven’t found.

The Death of Gain-of-Function

Senator Roger Marshall pressed Bhattacharya on gain-of-function research — the kind of lab-engineered pathogen enhancement that may have given us COVID-19 in the first place. Bhattacharya didn’t dance around the issue.

“I want to assure the American public that we have ended any support for dangerous gain-of-function at the NIH.”

Done. Finished. The research program that Tony Fauci swore didn’t exist, then claimed was essential for pandemic preparedness, then insisted was worth the risk — dead.

For years, we were told by the experts that gain-of-function research was too important to stop, too complex for regular people to understand, too necessary to question. Bhattacharya just ended it with a single sentence. Turns out it wasn’t that complicated after all.

The Reckoning Josh Hawley Demanded

Senator Josh Hawley wants what we all want — accountability. Real accountability. The kind that involves looking every American in the eye and explaining how their government funded the research that may have killed their grandmother.

Hawley pressed Bhattacharya on reviewing ALL funding streams to Wuhan and other Chinese labs. Not just the obvious ones. All of them. Every grant, every sub-grant, every dollar that flowed through EcoHealth Alliance and other cutouts designed to obscure the money trail.

Bhattacharya agreed to what he called a “morbidity and mortality conference” for America — the medical profession’s version of an after-action report when everything goes sideways. An honest reckoning of what went wrong, who made the decisions, and why.

The old NIH would have stonewalled, deflected, and hidden behind “ongoing investigations” until everyone forgot to ask. Jay takes a different tact.

The Vaccine Minefield

Then came the moment everyone was waiting for — the vaccine questions. Senator Bernie Sanders, playing his assigned role as progressive attack dog, pushed Bhattacharya repeatedly on vaccines and autism. The exchange was revealing for how precisely Bhattacharya said it.

“I do not believe the measles vaccine causes autism.”

“I have not seen a study that suggests any single vaccine causes autism.”

Note the careful phrasing. Not “vaccines don’t cause autism” — a blanket statement that would be scientifically indefensible given the current state of research. Instead, Bhattacharya spoke with the precision of a scientist who knows the difference between absence of evidence and evidence of absence.

He also dropped this data bomb: autism rates have exploded from 1 in 10,000 children in 1985 to 1 in 31 today. (That’s not a rounding error.)

Senator Banks praised the Kennedy administration for investing more resources in autism research than any previous administration. Finally — someone willing to ask uncomfortable questions instead of reflexively defending the status quo.

But Bhattacharya also made something crystal clear when Sanders demanded he state his position on measles vaccination:

“The best way to address the measles epidemic is by vaccinating our children for measles.”

Sanders asked him to repeat it louder. He did. This matters because it’s the head of NIH under a Kennedy administration — the administration that vaccine absolutists claim is anti-vaccine — explicitly recommending measles vaccination.

That sound you hear is the collapse of another manufactured narrative.

The Trust Deficit Crisis

Multiple senators from both parties acknowledged what the COVID accountability movement has been screaming for years: trust in public health is broken. Shattered. Obliterated.

Bhattacharya’s framing was perfect: you can’t rebuild trust by doubling down on the same behaviors that lost it. Only 40% of patients trust their doctors according to a 2024 JAMA study. That’s a credibility problem.

He cited the Danish model as an example: transparency builds trust. Denmark publishes their vaccine adverse event data in real-time. They acknowledge uncertainty instead of pretending omniscience. They treat their citizens like adults capable of making informed decisions.

The Research Funding Revolution

Perhaps the most overlooked aspect of Bhattacharya’s testimony was his commitment to breaking the geographic monopoly on NIH funding. Currently, six states capture nearly half of all NIH grants. The bottom 30 states get 13%.

The concentration breaks the ideological echo chamber that turned our premier biomedical research institution into a partisan weapon. When all your funding flows to the same coastal elite universities staffed by the same ideologically homogeneous faculty, you get groupthink. Dangerous groupthink.

Bhattacharya wants to use market-based thinking to delink facility support from existing grants, breaking the catch-22 that keeps new institutions locked out. More voices, more perspectives, more accountability.

The academic establishment will fight this tooth and nail. They’ve grown fat and lazy on their geographic monopoly. But science advances through competition, not consolidation.

The Fetal Tissue Fight

Democrats came hard at Bhattacharya over his decision to end NIH use of human fetal tissue from elective abortions. They painted this as anti-science extremism, ignoring the fact that alternatives like induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) now exist and usage was already plummeting.

This is political theater, not scientific debate. The research community has already moved beyond fetal tissue for most applications. Bhattacharya is simply formalizing what the science has already decided.

But it reveals something important about how the old establishment operates: they’ll defend any practice, no matter how ethically questionable or scientifically obsolete, if they think abandoning it represents a political victory for their opponents.

Grant Disruptions and Depoliticization

The Democratic attack line that hit hardest was over 383 clinical trials allegedly “terminated” under Bhattacharya’s leadership. The number sounds devastating until you dig into the details.

Most were renegotiated, not terminated. The actual number of true terminations was around twelve. And those were terminated for good reason — they contained DEI requirements and other political components that had nothing to do with medical research.

Imagine clinical trials where participation was contingent on demonstrating commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles. Imagine medical research designed to advance political ideology rather than human health.

Bhattacharya is depoliticizing NIH research, and the political establishment is furious about it. They want science to serve politics. He wants science to serve patients.

The Childhood Vaccine Schedule Revolution

The Kennedy administration’s decision to downgrade vaccine recommendations from 17 diseases to 11 sparked fierce pushback, particularly from Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester. She kept comparing America unfavorably to Denmark, as if Danish public health policy should be the gold standard for a country 58 times larger and infinitely more complex.

Senator Bill Cassidy delivered the line of the day: “Denmark is a club, not a country.”

He’s right. Denmark is an ethnically homogeneous nation of 6 million people with universal healthcare and social trust levels that would be unrecognizable to most Americans. Comparing American vaccine policy to Danish vaccine policy is like comparing aircraft carrier navigation to yacht racing.

The real question isn’t whether America should copy Denmark — it’s whether American children need protection against 17 different diseases in their first two years of life, or whether that represents medical maximalism run amok.

What This Means for COVID Accountability

Bhattacharya’s testimony was a mission statement. The man who was silenced for questioning lockdowns is now in charge of the institution that enforced them. The professor who was fact-checked for suggesting natural immunity matters is now directing the research that will vindicate that position.

Personal vindication and institutional transformation, delivered in the same afternoon.

The “morbidity and mortality conference” that Hawley extracted from Bhattacharya represents the accountability moment that the COVID accountability movement has been demanding for four years. Finally, someone in power who’s willing to ask the hard questions instead of circling the wagons.

But this is just the beginning. Bhattacharya can end gain-of-function research and redirect Long COVID studies, but the broader institutional rot runs deeper than personnel changes can fix. The captured regulatory agencies, the pharmaceutical-funded medical journals, the academic departments that prioritize ideology over inquiry — all of that requires sustained pressure from the outside.

The establishment that tried to destroy Bhattacharya is still there, still powerful, still committed to covering its tracks. They’ll fight every transparency measure, every accountability initiative, every attempt to restore scientific integrity to American public health.

The Long Game

What happened today in the Senate Health Committee was a complete inversion of the power structure that governed American biomedical research for the better part of four decades.

The people who were right about lockdowns are now in charge of lockdown policy. The people who were right about natural immunity are now directing immunity research. The people who were right about gain-of-function research are now controlling gain-of-function funding.

The institutional capture that turned NIH into a partisan weapon is being systematically dismantled by the very people it tried to silence.

Institutional change in America happens through the patient work of putting competent people in positions of authority and letting them methodically dismantle the systems that enabled corruption.

Jay Bhattacharya sat in that Senate hearing room today as the living embodiment of a simple truth: in the long run, reality always wins. It took six years, but the Great Barrington Declaration is now official United States health policy.

The vindication is sweet. The work ahead is just beginning.

On Wednesday, silver hit $117 an ounce. By Friday, it was $73.

That’s not a correction. That’s a 40% single-day crash — the kind of move that wipes out leveraged accounts, liquidates retail portfolios, and sends financial Twitter into full existential meltdown mode. Some late buyers showed up near the close, limiting the official damage to “only” 26%. Cold comfort.

And then came Monday.

Stories out of China. A metals dealer they’re calling “The Hat” — fled the country, left behind $144 million in unfinished deals, and triggered a chain reaction of counterparty losses that reached all the way up to state-backed trading firms. Separately, hundreds of customers stormed a bullion platform in Shenzhen — some carrying their children — demanding either their money or their gold. The company couldn’t produce either.

Silver dropped another 7%. Gold fell below $4,700 — down 14% from last week’s record. And the story is still unfolding.

Here’s what nobody screaming “dollar debasement” wanted to hear: none of this was about the dollar.

Not the rally. Not the crash. Not the fundamentals underneath either one.

Treasury yields have been steady for months. If the dollar were truly being debased — if inflation were genuinely reigniting — you’d see it in the bond market first. You didn’t. What you saw instead was a supply squeeze in silver that went parabolic for the oldest reason in financial markets: price action became the story, and the story became the only reason to buy.

Silver went from $79 to $117 in thirteen trading sessions. Thirteen. That’s not a market. That’s a meme stock. And as Mike Green put it in a recent interview, that’s effectively what silver became — momentum chasing dressed up in hard-money rhetoric.

The “dollar is dying” crowd had one data point: precious metals going up. That was it. One market, one interpretation, one narrative — and an army of retail speculators pouring money into something they fundamentally misunderstood.

The China Problem

The fraud stories aren’t surprising. They’re inevitable.

When any commodity enters a speculative frenzy — especially one where physical supply is genuinely tight — dealers overextend. They take in customer money for metal they don’t have. They promise delivery from wholesalers who promise delivery from other wholesalers who are all, collectively, short physical metal.

It works beautifully on the way up.

Then the tide turns. Customers want their metal or their money. The dealer has neither — the money went to pay for metal that “no one can seem to locate.” That’s a direct quote from the Bloomberg reporting on the Shenzhen situation.

The Hat story is potentially worse. A trading network facilitating deals across multiple counterparties, including SDIC Commodities — a state-backed firm. Everyone in the chain owed money for metal shipments. The Hat disappeared. The chain broke.

This isn’t a black swan. This is what always happens when markets go straight up. The escalator up, the elevator down — and on the way down, you find out who was swimming naked.

Where Does Silver Actually Bottom?

Three recent copper squeezes give us a template.

Squeeze #1 (Early 2024): Copper went from $3.70 to $5.11 on China panic buying. Reversed almost completely to below $4.00 by August.

Squeeze #2 (Late 2024): Trump tariff fears pushed copper from below $4.00 to $5.20. Deflationary liquidation dropped it back to $4.10.

Squeeze #3 (Mid 2025): More tariff fears. Copper hit $5.80. Then the administration hinted tariffs might not happen. Back under $4.30.

The pattern: near-complete roundtrips, every time. The speculative premium gets fully unwound.

Apply that to silver. The real chaotic buying — the speculative frenzy phase — started around $50 an ounce. That’s your gravity line.

The gold-to-silver ratio confirms it. Before Friday’s crash, the ratio hit 45 — the lowest since 2011, which was the last time we saw a silver squeeze of this magnitude. (That one didn’t end well either.) The ratio has bounced back to about 60, but through the late 2010s and early 2020s, it consistently sat between 80 and 90.

A ratio of 80 puts silver at $58. A ratio of 90 puts it at $52. And if gold itself continues falling — currently $4,700 and dropping — those targets slide even lower.

Below $50 is not out of the question.

The Real Story: Deflation, Not Debasement

Here’s what the precious metals crowd gets wrong, and what the bond market has been screaming for anyone willing to listen.

China’s non-manufacturing PMI just fell off a cliff again in January — right back into crashy, deflationary territory after a December bump that was obviously engineered to hit annual growth targets. The PBOC knows there’s no inflation. Chinese government bonds sit at ultra-low yields despite epic bond issuance, which tells you one thing: massive, sustained demand for safe havens.

Sound familiar? It’s the same fundamental impulse driving gold buying. Not dollar debasement — deflationary risk. Economic uncertainty. The search for anything that isn’t Chinese equities, which have become their own speculative casino.

US Treasuries tell the same story from a different angle. The yield curve has been remarkably stable while bull steepening since summer — the kind of signal that says “the economy is slowing and the Fed still hasn’t figured it out.”

Gold and silver, at their fundamental level, belong in the same bucket as bonds. Safe havens against economic deterioration. That’s the real story. Everything else — the dollar debasement narrative, the Reddit-fueled squeeze, the momentum chasers — was noise layered on top of a legitimate signal.

Short-Run Pain, Long-Run Gain

The fundamentals haven’t changed. The deflationary forces that pushed gold above $5,000 are still there. The supply constraints on silver are real. Chinese demand for non-equity safe havens isn’t going away.

But markets overshoot. They overshoot on the way up, and then they overshoot on the way down. Silver going from $79 to $117 in thirteen days was the upside overshoot. What we’re living through now is the correction — and corrections in commodities that went parabolic are brutal, fast, and deeply uncomfortable for anyone who bought the narrative instead of the fundamentals.

The people who got in early on real fundamentals? They’ll be fine. They might be underwater for a few weeks or months, but the thesis holds.

The people who bought silver at $110 because a guy on YouTube told them the dollar was dying?

They just learned an expensive lesson about the difference between a thesis and a trade.
